The only pony native to Ireland!!!

Tonight I learned about the Connemara Pony. It is the only horse breed that is native to Ireland! It originated in Connemara in County Galway. I have always loved horses and ponies! When I asked about animals unique to Ireland, the Connemara Pony fascinated me! They are known to be sure-footed and strong. This makes them nimble on rocky terrain and the bog-lands found in Ireland.  They are believed to be descendants of the Norse ponies brought by Vikings. They are also admired for their friendly personalities and are very reliable for all ages. They are on the large end of the scale for ponies.
